These two girls came to us (pre-named) yesterday afternoon. The only history I know is that Casino, on the right, was a stray in Brockton, Montana, on the Fort Peck Reservation. Royale was turned in to Wolf Point Pound Puppies by a person who either hit or ran over her with his truck. It appears nothing was broken, and after a week of soreness/stiffness, she seemed to be fully recovered. Both are around ten weeks old, so they are energetic and agile.

In fact, when they got to the house and had an orientation sniff around the house and yard, they started playing hard and didn’t let up for two hours. There was a short break when I served supper, and they went straight back at it, running, wresting, play-growling, for four more hours. About an hour before they finally crashed I had a frightening thought: what if it’s like this every single day?
Finally at 9:35 p.m. they dropped and slept. A while later I slept too, with trepidation. I was awakened by one energetic pup at 5:15 a.m., but after a short time outside we all fell back asleep until a civilized hour. Today they have been normal puppies, playing with my dogs, sniffing around, and spending more than half the day sleeping. They both have very sweet personalities, and Royale’s mophead is simply adorable.

Grace, as usual, is happy to have more puppies here and has engaged them often in her gentle style of play. Check out the roving eye!
These two sure look like they’re living a life of leisure. Thanks for fostering, Jeff.
